Christos Wins Shop of the Year 2015 In Milton Keynes

Shop of the year 2015 inside Shop of the Year 2015 Outside shopA Double Celebration for Christos!

It was a snip! Christos Hair Salon have been overwhelmingly voted Newport Pagnell Independent Shop of 2015 by their devoted customers.
Mark & Tina Periclis, owners of the salon were over the moon to hear that they had won the accolade and the recognition is particularly special, as 2015 marks the 50th anniversary of the setting up their business.
Mark’s father, Christos, started the business in 1965 and the world of hairdressing has changed beyond recognition since. Today’s salon is a constant hive of activity and the commitment to customer service is second to none. They have adapted their business to meet the needs of today’s busy client and keeping ahead of the fast moving techniques and trends has put them at top of their game.
The salon has also been working in partnership for the past 2 years with both MK and Bedford Hospitals and MacMillan to offer a unique and personal service to cancer patients and those who suffer with alopecia in their private first floor salon.
Mark said, “I was born and bred in Newport Pagnell, also 50 years ago! Dad has since returned home and I’ve been keeping this competition a secret from him, I just can’t wait to tell him the amazing news. What a great year its turning out to be!”
As an advocate of our local independant shops, I was so pleased with the fantastic response to this campaign as it gives customers the opportunity to be able to say thank you to their favourite butcher, florist, grocer, or whoever it maybe.
Many congratulations to Mark, Tina and all the dedicated team at Christos, it’s clearly not a case of “hair today and gone tomorrow!”

It’s Enough To Make Your Hair Curl!

It was a joy to be able to meet lucky voter, Ro Smith from Sherington and congratulate him on winning £100 to spend at Christos Hair Centre.
Ro was randomly chosen from over 350 people who voted in my campaign to find the most popular Independent Shop of 2015 in Newport Pagnell.
On meeting up with Ro, I learnt that he had been a customer at Christos for over 30 years, in fact he used to pop into their first shop in Wolverton when he was working as a truck driver in the steel works.
The family legacy continues on as Luke, Ro’s grandson, is already a regular customer at Christos and is delighted to learn that his granddad is willing to share his good fortune!

Salon Update

Tina Periclis

Since the salon opened over 48 years ago, the main focus has always been around great hairdressing and superb client care. Many things have changed over time, equipment, for one is more high tech, there was no such thing as ghd’s in the 60’s and now we cannot last a day without using them. The research and development of salon professional products and the enhancement of colour techniques have pushed us to educate ourselves to create advanced forward thinking styles for today’s busy client.

We have introduced the runway, a 30 minute colour service for a quick re-do for those in-between times. We have trained extensively with professional Wella technicians on Illumina the first sheer colour that’s luminous in every kind of light. Introducing the new curl machine from Babyliss made the exceptionally busy prom work a lot easier and allowed us to experiment with lots more styles which in turn will no doubt look great on a lot of our Brides.  Working with our brides’ right from the beginning and planning their big day with them provides us with a lot of happiness and job satisfaction.

I am lucky to work with some of the most amazing creative stylists who are passionate about producing superb results for their clients. Our barbers, led by Mark, have extensive knowledge of all men’s cuts and they continue to amaze me with the individual service they provide for every client.

Wedding Season Is Almost Upon Us!

With all the lovely spring weddings around the corner, here at the Christos Hair Group we are getting Brides and Bridesmaids booking in for trials.

patrick_cameron

Our bridal hair stylists have been trained by the world renowned Patrick Cameron.

Saturday the 2nd of February saw our stylists Sarah and Vicki do the bridal hair for the lovely Claire and her bridesmaids. For the finished results take a look at the beautiful pictures on our Facebook page.

If you or someone you know is getting married this year then why not give us a call today and book in for a consultation; 01908 611277

We pride ourselves in giving the best service and preparation for your big day. Our top bridal hair stylists, have many years experience when dealing with wedding parties.

We firstly recommend booking an appointment for a trial when you have an idea of the kind of hairstyle you want to go for, we are also able to add hair extensions and hair pads to achieve the look you want. It is also a good idea to book your wedding trial the same day you have a dress fitting so you can try your dress on and decide if the hair is right. Taking a picture is another great way to see how you look rather as it may seem completely different from you looking in the mirror.

Remember the colour and condition of your hair are just as important as your hair on the day, if you are wearing your hair down then it needs to be in tip-top condition and the colour needs to be perfect too. We normally recommend having your colour done about week before the wedding day to give it chance to settle into the hair, if any products are required like hair masks or treatments we will ensure that we have them in stock for you.

We understand that although the day is to focus around the bride there is still the bridesmaids and mother of the bride that are important and need looking after too. If you have a specific idea of how you want the bridesmaids hair to look then we advise that one of them come along to your trial and have their hair done.

If you are not getting married locally and cannot make it to the salon on the day then our wedding specialists Vicki and Sarah can come out to your venue and create a  personalised wedding package for you, otherwise the upstairs part of our salon is perfect for bridal parties on the big day, we can close upstairs off to make it feel more personal and we are pretty partial to a few bottles of bubbly to kick the celebrations off!!

For any queries please do not hesitate to call us, consultations are free and prices range from:

Bridal Hair – from £80

Bridesmaid – from £60

Blow Drys and hat/fascinator fittings – from £18

When it comes to the boy’s, they all want to look like Harry Styles

‘We only want Stacey’harry_styles

A must have stylist for lads with long hair, Jamie Case told us on Saturday.

Jamie explained to Stacey that she was privileged to be cutting his hair today as he was on the BBC Look East 4 times on Friday!

Jamie takes part inin his spare time and a new gym has been opened in Kingston Milton Keynes for the Free Running club. Jamie, like many other young lads with similar hair styles only trust Stacey with their hair.

Stacey, a full time advanced hair stylist at the Newport Pagnell Salon is fantastic with teenagers who like to keep on trend. Like Jamie who has a very similar hair cut to Harry Styles with long thick hair, a sweeping fringe and very choppy layers, the kind of haircuts that 16/17 year old teenage lads can roll out of bed and mess into shape. Stacey follows through with an innovative and unique colouring and Racoon Hair Extensions to complete a ‘one off’ show piece!

Saturday 2nd of February saw the trend for Soft Pinks & Greys through to Cerise & Platinum!

wella_fusion

Tina’s client Alison, always a trend setter, wanted something new. A choppy, ace metric cut, with a long fringe, moved up a gear by adding cerise pink and platinum to a dark brown base. The results were stunning! Alison is a special needs teacher from a school in Milton Keynes and was delighted with the results; see the finished style on our Facebook page.

“Thanks Alison, 17 years as a loyal client and you always let me go overboard with artistic interpretation!”

Bee’s client Val, again loves to take inspiration from the catwalk. Bee went through an in-depth consultation and the pair came up with ‘The Raspberry Ripple

We cannot think of a better way of injecting some colour into February, thank you to our customers for letting us use your photos.

Remember to always use Wella SP Colour Save Collection to maintain your colour and for adding shine and protection we always finish off with Moroccanoil.

Here at the Christos Hair Group, we are huge fans of the curl products from Moroccanoil. They not only help to style your hair but they also help to condition and moisturise.

Moroccanoil Curl Cream, Moroccanoil Products from Christos Newport Pagnell

There are three products to form the curl collection; Curl Defining Cream, Intense Curl Cream and Curl Control Mousse. Depending on the overall finish you wish to gain from your product, would determine which one you would choose.

  • Defines and soothes naturally wavy and curly hair
  • Rich in argan oil and vitamins
  • No sticky residue
  • Great to refresh and revive dry hair
  • For added shine, mix one pump with the Moroccanoil Treatment
